THE PROJECT

The clients wanted a logo that captured the fun and nostalgia that comes from eating Asian street food as a child. Their first location did so well that they further expanded to a new spot that focused on Thai eateries with a request that one of their furry family members be added to the logo. With the success of their restaurants, they decided to create a new segment of their vision that offers Asian desserts often found at street vendors and night markets in Asia.

THE RESULT

The final initial logo for SLURP embodies the essence of childhood enjoyment with a chubby child enjoying his street noodle of choice. A round font option was chosen to help exaggerate the bubbly emotion of what it feels like to eat good food. The bright bold red and golden yellow additionally create a vibe reminiscent of the busy streets and crowds expected at Asian night markets.

SLURP Taikyak & Ramen is a variation of the chubby child enjoying his food. But in this version, he has with him a Taiyaki fish-shaped pastry with softserve which is a popular Asian dessert.

The logo for SLURP Thai represents an extension of the original SLURP so the basic look stayed the same. The furry family member request was added as well as the “THAI” portion of the restaurant title. An additional version of the logo was provided where it was incorporated into a Farris wheel often found at night markets and around street vendors in Thailand.
